Cheaper Fares on the Fifie

HowffDundee Harbour Trustees, at a special meeting yesterday, agreed to make reductions in the Tay Ferries fares. The steamers are now very extensively used by hikers and cyclists and to encourage this traffic Sir William High Convener of  Tay Ferries Company promulgated the scheme onf cheaper fares. Read more......

Clever Display

Eastern CemeteryThere is no limit to ingenuity in advertising these days. By way of attracting attention to one of the latest popular melodies, a Dundee dealer has arranged a clever display in his shop window. An amiable old lady is depicted slumbering beside her fireside and every inch has been used to supply "atmosphere". She has an old fashioned gramophone and big tea caddies, while a brass clock hangs on the wall. As a final touch a copy of the "People's Journal" rests up on her lap. Read more......

Preparing For The Mills Observatory

Albert InstituteThe erection of the Mills Observatory on Balgay Hill, Dundee is to begin at an early date. At a meeting of the Works Committee of the Town Council on Thursday, a letter was read from Messrs Johnstone, Simpson and Thomson solicitors, intimating that the Observatory trustees intended to place the contracts for erection of the building during the forthcoming week. it is intended to push forward this work during the summer months. Read more......
