As in a Dream

The rainbow faded to black and white
Willows bowed their branches low
Woodlands of evergreen pine
Wore weeds of indigo

Songbirds - without a song
Strangely suspended in flight
Observed the dark side of the moon
Sweep sunlight out of sight

Petals paled in pallor
Golden fields of corn turned grey
The world was spinning - spinning
But time stood still that day
