Qualifying Class SS Peter & Paul's

Although I was born in Dundee in 1933 the family moved to Greenock in 1935 where my father, who was an engineer to trade, was employed to help build the engines for the ship that was to be named Queen Elizabeth.

We did not come back to Dundee until I was old enough to go into the Qualifying Class at SS Peter & Paul's School.

Then I moved to St John's. When I finished school I did my apprenticeship at N.L. Sutton, the dress shop, which was where the British Home Stores is now.
