Cheese and Ham Loaf 1955

This is a delicious filling for sandwiches. You require 4oz of grated cheese, 1 egg, 6oz breadcrumbs, 6oz lean boiled ham, 1 dessertspoonful of tomato sauce, salt and pepper, a little milk and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Chop the ham finely and mix with all the dry ingredients. Stir in the tomato sauce and mix to a fine dough with the egg and milk. Turn into a greased baking tray, press and dot with butter pieces. Bake for half an hour in a moderate oven. Cook and slice thinly to use in sandwiches.
