A new church is to be erected at Invergowrie to take the place of the iron building in which for a number of years the adherents of the Church of Scotland have worshipped. Of handsome appearance and with the accommodation for 600 worshippers the building is estimated to cost £3,200 and it is gratifying to state that sufficient funds have been promised to cover the expenditure and enable the congregation to enter into possession by December of next year at the latest, free of debt.
An interesting lecture on and demonstration of Sambrook's system of memory training was given in Dundee Y.M.C.A rooms on Thursday. Mrs R.A. Norman and Miss Agnes Sambrook outlined the principles upon which the system is based, demonstrating in a very striking manner its elasticity and adaptability as an aid to the acquisition of facts and figures in all branches of human knowledge. Mrs Norman was subject to some very trying tests and the powers of the memory which she exhibited afforded a capital demonstration of the extent to which one's memory may be cultivated under scientific training.
