Busy Route

High StreetMaryfield and Perth Road people who are still wondering when their high speed trams are to come along will be interested in the traffic figures for the last ten months which have been issued by the Transport Department. While about six and a half million passengers have travelled on the route the combined total for the Blackness to Downfield routes amounted to about five million. And yet the Blackness to Downfield route was favoured with a high speed service. The combined bus and tram returns show the Maryfield to Perth Road to be easily the busiest in the city.

A Real Festival for Music Lovers

Of course the festival proper does not begin until Thursday but from 2.45 on that afternoon right on until 9 o'clock on Saturday night there will be a real feast for all music lovers.

Bare Legs in Dundee

Two maids set the fashion...
Just three years ago a fashion drifted from sunnier climb startled Wimbledon. On Tuesday it reached Dundee. Two young ladies, whom the sunshine evidently had brought visions of Lido freedom played the silkworm a nasty trick. Hatted and coated in orthodox style they had left their stockings at home although they were shod with high-heeled shoes. At first glance the inference was that they were sun-bathing. They then carefully inspected the posters outside a cinema, and disappeared into the darkness.

Is it the start of a new cult in the city or was it a case of new shoes being too tight to permit those young ladies to don the customary flimsy stockings?

How To Freshen Stale Bread and Buns

We cannot afford to waste food these days, so when you come on stale buns or bread in the cupboard here is a way of making them as good as new. Brush the buns with milk and heat in the oven. Dip a loaf of stale bread in water and place on a baking tray and warm in the oven. This should be done just before serving.
