Lonely Death of an Old Man in Lochee
Yesterday afternoon D Johnston, labourer, about 60 years of age was found dead in his house in Albert Street, Lochee, under somewhat peculiar circumstances. Johnston lived in an attic by himself, and, it is understood, went to bed the previous night in his usual health. As he was always going about during the day time the neighbours missed him, and as no sound proceeded from the room he occupied then became alarmed and thought it advisable to inform the police of their fears. The door of the attic was accordingly forced open, and Johnston, partially dressed was found sitting in a corner on a chair quite dead. Dr Thornton, who was called, stated that the deceased had expired some hours previously, death being due to natural causes.

Remove the cause, "California". If catarrhal, have a mighty head shampoo; gargle with tepid water and lemon juice, and snuff the same mixture up the nostrils. In reference to a recent reply of mine "another mother" kindly sends the following hint:-
I find parazone quite effectual for this purpose. It simply eats off everything that ought not be there. Apply with a piece of flannel and scrub well. If the stains are at the foot of the pan, pour in some parazone last thing at night and leave until morning. I clean my white sink the same way.

Brutal Assault on Women
Alexander Low, labourer, residing in Lochee, was, in Dundee Sherriff Court on Monday, sentenced to pay a fine of 30s with the alternative of 20 days imprisonment for having in a house in Coupar Street, Lochee seriously assaulted two women.
A Cats Remarkable Experience
During its existence a cat has often some wonderful experiences. In a suburb a new building was in the course of being erected and the joiners had been laying the flooring. A cat arrived at the building, and, being in a prowling mood, it entered below the flooring from a small space that had not been completed. The joiners finished the flooring, thus imprisoning the cat in the subterranean passage. The cat remained beneath the flooring for 13 days and was only discovered by the new tenant, who heard its almost dying cries. Pleasing to relate the cat was resusitated from its exhausted condition and is now enjoying a healthy existence.
Maryfield Bowling Green
Maryfield Bowling Green was officially opened on Wednesday. Owing to the unseasonable weather the turn-out of players was much smaller than is general on such occasions, and the usual match - President v's Vice President - was prematurely stopped by heavy rainfall.
The green is in excellent condition, having been much improved since last season.
