Today the Forth and Clyde Royal Garrison Artillery will occupy the familiar camping ground of the Submarine Miners under the shadow of the Old Castle of Broughty Ferry. By and by the "Subbies" themselves, transformed into a Territorial Fortress Company will encamp there too, so that the disbandment of the "Subbies" instead of ending the military usefulness of the Castle Green appears likely to greatly increase that usefulness. An advance party of the Forth and Clyde Territorial has been in Broughty Ferry since Thursday preparing for the opening of the camp and this afternoon about 100 Officers and men will be under canvas. The force will be under the command of Colonel C. Osborne and the other Officers present are Major Campbell, Captain Lithgow and Lieutenant Yates.
Last Saturday was a red-letter day in the life of the employees at Bowbridge Works, when the jubilee rejoicings of the week were fittingly terminated by the payment of a sum of money as a bonus to each servant of the Messrs Grimmond. The days of special payments to the mill and factory workers of the city are so few and far between that the jubilee bonus Saturday at Bowbridge deserves a red mark on the calender.
