Association for Tall Woman

Several Scots members of the "Association for Tall Woman" have met in Glasgow in an effort to start a Scottish branch of the association. Our aim is to gain enough support to be able to ask Scottish manufacturers and shops to make and stock clothes for all tall women.

In Glasgow it is impossible to buy such clothes at reasonable prices. We maintain there be enough tall women of 5 ft 8 in and over to make it well worth making clothes in Scotland. We find also that tall women like to get together socially. We intend to make this possible by arranging meetings and events if we get reasonable support.

A Dark Day in Dundee

A dark day in Dundee was on August the 14th, 1884. The storm that raged over the town that day made many think that the end of the world has come. At noon, heavy gloom enveloped the city till it was as dark as midnight in December. All traffic stopped. Sheet after sheet of lightening crossed the sky, thunder roared incessantly and torrents of rain flooded the streets. Several fireballs exploded.

Ranger's Favourite

Manager Willie Thornton leaves little to chance. At Dens Park they play the orange ball which keeps the same weight in all weathers. At Ibrox the usual type of ball is used. If the weather is wet it becomes much heavier.

Dundee's manager used the Ranger's favourite in practice this week. He soaked a ball in water and staged a full practice game at Downfield Park on Tuesday. And believe me the boys felt a mighty difference.
