Coldside Petition

Boots CornerHundreds of people who either live or shop in the Coldside area, have signed a petition calling for better pedestrian facilities on the roads there.

The problem was highlighted on the front page of the "Journal" last week.

Councillors Ian Fyffe and Joe Barton have both expressed concern about safety in this part of town.Of special importance is the proximity of an old people's club. The Five Ways sits right alongside this busy Coldside junction.

The Councillors are concerned that accidents may happen, and will be raising the problem with the Regional Department next month.

In signing the petition, many people said they'd read the "Journal" story and were keen to see positive action taken over the matter.
