Dundee Chamber Concert

Dundee Chamber music club completed its series of four concerts before a large audience in the Training College Hall on Thursday night. The last of the series was eagerly looked forward to both on account of the reappearance of the Brosa Quartet and because of the inclusion in their programme of two highly interesting works. It was a delightfully varied programme from Beethoven to an ultra-modern Russian.

Boat Jetty At City Square

An interesting discovery was made on Thursday in the course of the excavations for the west wing of Dundee's new City Square. The remains of what appears to have been a wooden jetty or landing stage for boats were uncovered. It would seem that the relic of the past dates from the time when the waters of the Tay came up as far as Crichton Street. Workmen exposed about twenty square feet of the jetty. The oak wood of which it is made appears to be in a good state of presentation.

New Playground

It is to be hoped that the Town Council will approve the recommendation that a new playground for children to be laid out at Law Crescent. There is a need for a playground for youngsters in this quarter, and the cost of the layout would be moderate.
