Angus Bread

I bake this bread every week. It's a grand treat for a picnic or a carried lunch. Cut it thin and spread with margarine.

Take 1lb currants, sultanas, dates and mixed peel.

Put the fruit and half-pound brown sugar in a bowl - pour over one and a half cupfuls of strong tea. Leave overnight.

Next morning beat one egg and add a pinch of salt and one 1lb self-raising flour. Mix well and put into a bread tin. Bake in a fairly hot oven for one and a half hours.

Summer Snapshots

Here is a gay way to treat your summer snapshots.

Cut pieces of cardboard larger than your snaps. Cover neatly with pretty material turning the edges on to the wrong side and gumming them.

Stick pieces of folded ribbon to the backs at the top to hang them up with.

Then stick your snapshots on to the front. Several in a row are very interesting.

Painless

My dentist got a surprise when he went into his waiting room this week.

Two small patients who had been discharged the week before were curled up in two of the chairs.

When asked why the dentist was told "We came back tae read yer comics - you've got so many good ones!!"
