Lochee won the cup of the Forfar, Perth and Fife Counties Bowling Association at the annual rink tournament held on Saturday. In all, 140 rinks were entered; embracing 560 players and Lochee had the record average of 23 points up per rink. They had three rinks entered, and their total majority was 69. The second place was taken by Scone, whose three rinks were 51 shots up – and average of 17 – while Abbey (Arbroath), with five rinks, were 51 up, and an average of 10 1-5.Play took place on 15 greens in Forfarshire and Perthshire. Unfortunately the weather was unfavourable. Heavy rain fell all over, but only on two greens was play stopped. This was at Scone and Kinnoull, w here the conditions were so adverse that the games were abandoned when from 9 to 13 ends had been played. It may be stated that at the West End Green, Perth, near Scone and Kinnoull, the full 25 ends were played.
Even with a membership of nearly 100, a large fleet or racing vessels, and eight yachts entering for an ordinary handicap sailing fixture, the Corinthian Boating Club have not yet reached the zenith of their ambition. With their extended and improved clubhouses they aspire too much greater things. But they were gratified to see eight vessels “toeing the line” at their match last week.
There were two events one for the President’s Cup, the other for the D.C.B. Club Cup, the former for heavy boats, was competed for by Mr James Henderson Stewart’s ‘Corrie’, fresh from its recent victory down the coast, and Mr Peter Duncan’s ‘Rella’. Both are magnificent crafts. So great was the difference in build and speed, however that the Rella was allowed 25 minutes of a start. The Rella romped home with five minutes to spare.
Little Eric Kettles, the infant boy who was recently found under the seat of a first class railway carriage on the Perth – Dundee line, has been adopted by a Perth couple, a railway shunter and his wife, who reside in the centre of the city.
The couple, who have no family of their own, have, it is understood, expressed their intention of bringing Eric up wholly on their own responsibility, and as their own child. Eric is now installed, in his new quarters, and is already feeling quite at home.

Dudhope Museum has become somewhat overcrowded, and a suggestion, emanating from the Free Library Committee to the effect that the whole of Dudhope Castle should be set apart for museum purposes engaged the attention of the members of the Library Committee and the Parks Committee of the Town Council, who met in conference.
It was pointed out that the remainder of the building was at present occupied as dwelling-houses by the caretaker and park manager, and also as a Bureau for the unemployed. Discussions elicited that on the part of the Town Council representatives there was a disinclination to undertake the additional financial obligations involved in providing other premises for the two employees involved; while, on behalf of the Library Committee, it was pointed out that their financial position would not permit them undertaking the burden. It these circumstances it was decided to let the matter drop.
Take seven tomatoes of a good round shape and size, cut off the top and scoop out part of the inside, mix into a basin one dessertspoonful of parsley, very finely chopped, 2 oz breadcrumbs, 2 oz ham and a little grated onion. Season with pepper and salt and bind together with 1½ oz butter. Fill the tomatoes with the mixture, stand on a buttered tin, and bake in a hot oven for about 10 minutes. Have ready seven rounds of toast, stand the tomatoes on these and serve very hot.
