My mum Ruby Fisken was a long time nurse there. My dad Jim played the piano in a local band that played at the dancehalls. I used to go and sit by his side. By the time the night was over, you couldn't see anyone's heads for the secondhand smoke.

In summer, I loved going for a day at Broughty Beach. When the bus would start and stop, all the shells of the wilks would run back and forward. Read more......
Bands / Groups Celebrations / Occasions Childhood Cinema / Theatre Coronation Entertainment Family Fifies (Tay Ferries) Food and Drink Holidays/Day Trips Music / Concerts Royal Family Pam Fisken Fri, 07 Mar 2014 16:16:11 +0000 fiona.christison 1196 at http://bygone.dundeecity.gov.uk Diamond Jubilee http://bygone.dundeecity.gov.uk/reminiscences/diamond-jubilee
Citizens are partying today
Chasing clouds away
Singing with Dundee
It’s The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Read more......
City Square High Street 2000 to present Celebrations / Occasions Coronation Poems / Poetry Royal Family Anna MacDonald City Centre Thu, 14 Jun 2012 09:17:04 +0000 lynne.davidson 970 at http://bygone.dundeecity.gov.uk Coronation Day http://bygone.dundeecity.gov.uk/reminiscences/coronation-day
One of my first memories as a child was the coronation of Queen Elizabeth 2nd not the 1st, I'm not that old. I lived in a 'single end' in Bernard Street and we had a great street party. My cousin Francis Harvey was dressed up to be the young Prince Charles. I was only 3 at that time, but I still think of it with fondness.
