Memories of Saggar Street

The talk given by the City Archivist, Iain Flett at the launch of the Streetwise exhibition was thoroughly enlightening and interesting. Bringing back many memories of times past. One particular street, Saggar Street, held my attention. Iain mentioned that Dr. Saggar came to Dundee in the 30s from India and gave of his medical services free to the poor. He delivered me (a home delivery) and apparently when asking what I would be named said 'she is like a Rose and will always be Rose to me'.
