Both Teams Rejoicing

FunfairThe great visit of Celtic to Dens Park has come and gone, and left is a mixed condition of affairs. Both clubs are at once rejoicing and lamenting - rejoice over the financial outcome and lamenting the loss of two good men. A draw was the outcome as all the world knows and this means that the Celtic rum of success was to a certain extent broken down, but in all the circumstances our friends from the west seemed to be quite well pleased with the result even though it cost them a point.

A Government Appointment

Government service offers the best sphere for those young man and young ladies who wish to make for themselves an honourable career. Entrance into it and promotion in it are both by merit alone. Influence is no longer of any use. The age limits are 14-22. The entrance examinations are not severe if candidates go about the matter properly. A six months' course of lessons under recognised experts enables them to pass. Skerry's College is the recognised Training Institution in Scotland. It has day, evening and correspondence classes in which all courses for the spring examinations are beginning now.

Everyone should send for a copy of the Civil Service Guide, which gives full and interesting information about the appointments.
