Clubs Chasing McKinven

Baxter Park TerraceNeil McKinven, the Dundee centre-half manager met the manager of a Scottish 'A' Division club in a hotel in Glasgow yesterday. McKinven stated his terms and the manager told him he would be in touch next week. McKinven also has an appointment with the representative of York City next Saturday. York have offered very good terms. Dundee United will have to move fast if they want to land Neil.

Foster Homes Required

Annual Brotherhood Bus Trip

Dundee Brotherhood held their annual bus trip on Wednesday night when 70 people travelled. They crossed by Tay Ferries and continued to Perth via Newburgh. After supper at Perth they returned by the Carse of Gowrie.

Sporting Brass Band

The city schools' brass band is to play at school sports throughout the summer. It made its initial appearance at Tannadice Park on Wednesday for the primary schools' sports day.

Skilled Men Required

Scythesmen- required by Dundee Corporation Parks and Cemeteries Department. Suitably skilled men should make applications to Parks Superintendent, 17 City Square, Dundee.

Coffee and Walnut Cake

A great favourite this - Cream 4oz margarine and 4oz caster sugar. Add in two beaten eggs, 2 dessertspoons coffee essence, 2 dessertspoons milk. Mix in 6oz plain flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder and 2oz chopped walnuts. Beat well and divide between two 7 inch sandwich tins. Bake in a moderate oven.

When cool sandwich together with coffee butter cream - 4oz icing sugar, 2oz butter and a dessertspoonful of coffee essence. Spoon on top and sprinkle with halved walnuts.
